Arc Flash Protection Equipmen
An arc flash is an explosive phenomenon that occurs when electric current passes through the air. This hazard can cause injuries to workers near the explosion. The temperature generated by an arc flash can be four times that of the sun’s surface, causing severe burns, electric shock, and hearing damage.
NFPA 70E Compliance
Arc flash personal protective equipment is available in sets, kits, or coveralls to provide comprehensive protection. The required personal protective equipment (PPE) depends on the risk level and severity of the arc flash hazard.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E standard defines four distinct levels of arc flash protection. The lowest level (Level 1) provides a protection rating of 4 calories per square centimeter, while the highest level (Level 4) provides a protection rating of 40 calories per square centimeter.
